Noise disturbs us in our ability to concentrate. And it is able to influence even more. Noise can even make us ill.
The noise does not have to be loud to affect us. Depending on the volume, it can damage our ears, provoke problems to sleep or influence the blood pressure. Insomnia, headache, a decreased work performance and even depression can be caused by noise.
Studies (see this link for example) have shown that noise reduces the performance in working or learing (generally for all processes with a high level of concentration).
For example students are adversely affected by noise in there ability to concentrate. In a noisy environment, people are aggressive and irritable quickly. Noise means stress.
